I don’t normally do this but my experience today deserves to be shared. I took my son in to get his hair cut. There’s a rather long wait to be had. And he’s 5. I come prepared with a few cars. But wasn’t sure how it was going to go. Next thing I know him & 3 other boys total are playing like kids do. The 2 ladies working seemed to laugh right along with them. Even the other customers didn’t seem to mind. The ladies took their time with everyone while being very professional & fun. By the time my son was called, he’d changed his mind. I tried explaining what I’d like but told the stylist to make him happy & look good. And to keep my surprise in mind. I brought some colored styling wax to put in his hair. Y’all! Ms Selena did an amazing job. Not only on his haircut but working with a squirmy lil boy! My son’s reaction to his red spiked hair was priceless. He bragged on it the whole day everywhere we went! She’s awesome!

This place loses a star for the absurd wait times – it took over an hour for us to be seen, they need to up their wages or something to attract more staff. Once we got our hair done, the hairdressers themselves were fantastic, pleasant, and did a great job. If they hire more similarly-skilled people, we’ll be back.

With being out over the road so much, it’s hard to fit in a haircut. I have been using Great Clips for years & when I parked my truck over by Kroger last night I noticed this store a few doors down & came in the following morning. I was very impressed with how kind Salena was & how her son is also looking to go in the trucking industry as well here in the future. I also left a good tip, her work was excellent. I had taken my student in for a haircut and we were told it would be a “just a few minutes” there were three stylists on staff at that time and the one who checked us in was Angela. with one person ahead of us in the waiting area we waited 35 minutes before I approached the counter to inquire how long we would have to continue to wait. during this time Angela had disappeared talking to a woman in the back room. she would occasionally pop her head out and glance around to see who was in the waiting area. after another family had come in she reappeared and that is when I asked how much longer and was told “just a few more minutes” she had called a member of the new family in the lobby up for a cut and that is when I visited the counter once again inquiring why we had been waiting over forty minutes at this point and still not serviced, at this time the mother of the child had given her sons spot in line to us and insisted that Angela cut my students hair first. Angela rolled her eyes and sighed. Important note my student is visually impaired and is a bit nervous and uncomfortable with haircuts at times. I informed Angela of this and asked that she not say words that might make him uncomfortable such as “hurt, sharp, scary, or razor” I asked that she try and be gentle as well. I stood near as I always do when he goes for haircuts. the entire duration of the cut she repeated the words consistently that I had specifically mentioned and asked her not to say to him and continually ignored me, and I interrupted her asking politely to stop. She was less than gentle with him to say the very least and when I offered to help adjust his head, holding him very still she began to shave in his hard part. (I told her that last time they cut it too wide so if she could be careful with it that we would appreciate it) she cut one section of his part as wide as my pinky, nearly a half Inch wide. at this point I stopped her and said that it was too wide and I was uncomfortable with it. she continued to shave the rest of it just as wide replied with “Well, it doesn’t really matter right?!” Referring to his visual impairment I could only assume. at checkout there was more eye rolling on her part and she was clearly upset when I didn’t leave a tip. my student and I left the salon feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. I personally feel as if she was purposely trying to avoid us from the moment we checked in. it is a disappointment that some people are treated differently than others. aside from the mistreatments, take at look at the haircut itself. less than acceptable. will never come back or recommend.

Critical: ProfessionalismI have never in my life been to such an unprofessional salon! The guy who cut my hair was so drunk he could barely stand up. He BUTCHERED my hair! He kept playing with my hair and told me I was so da$& cute and he wanted to keep saying it. He then pulled my hair. He was so drunk he kept having to re comb my hair because he couldn’t keep it between his fingers! I told him i didnt want anymore cut off.As he took my cape off he grazed my breast. I made eye contact with the other stylist several times in the mirror, nodding for her to come over there and she looked away! I couldn’t use this business as apparently they didn’t have the decency to contact corporate of their early closing for “being short-handed,” as well as a bad attitude over the phone and hanging up on me (not myself as they have accused me of, as I had both hands on the wheel). And I am not the type of person to even be vocal about such a thing unless I am repeatedly provoked, as this particular business has done. And I am no one’s “dear.” I will be making sure that the higher-ups will know, and even then I am forced to email them as their call center hours are only until 4:30? Who knows, maybe they’re “short-staffed,” too.
