I’m thrilled with my cut and color!Edit: a year later, I am terrible at getting back to the salon regularly, but my cut always grows out beautifully even when I wait too long. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have been a customer of Matisse Salon and Spa and specifically the owner Farah for several years, and I always leave my appointments feeling so happy with my look and appreciative of Farah and her staff’s talent and supportiveness. I originally found Matisse because I was diagnosed with an auto immune that causes hair loss and extreme scalp sensitivity and I was looking for a salon that carried more natural products. Farah carries several hair color lines known to be more gentle and with less strong chemical ingredients, and I really feel that Farah listens to my concerns due to my condition and always manages to make my hair look great-which is something I really need as I struggle with my ongoing hair loss. I have been a customer of Matisse Salon and Spa and specifically the owner Farah for several years, and I always leave my appointments feeling so happy with my look and appreciative of Farah and her staff’s talent and supportiveness. I couldn’t find many that could work with hair that had box dye in it (nearly 3 colors in the roots) but Victoria at Matisse did a phenomenal job. She was so patient, so kind, and very informative of the hair appointment and future hair care. I went from black, to box dyed brown and orange on the roots, to such a beautiful blonde balayage, all thanks to her! I literally cannot believe it’s my hair!! I’m so in love with her work. I 100% recommend this salon and especially recommend Victoria! I went in today feeling nervous, not because of the salon but because of my previous history of using box dye. I couldn’t find many that could work with hair that had box dye in it (nearly 3 colors in the roots) but Victoria at Matisse did a phenomenal job. She was so patient, so kind, and very informative of the hair appointment and future hair care. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueFrom my initial phone call to Matisse salon, the receptionist explained that I will be meeting with the master stylist. I was excited to go in for a balayage and haircut. I explained to Farah my hair history of salon highlights and balayage. I showed her pictures and explained what I was looking to achieve. She agreed and proceeded to work on my hair.She bleached my hair, which was what I was looking for. Without asking or confirming the tone of blonde, she proceeded to do what she thought would look good. My hair turned into a yellow pigmented mess. Afterwards, she did a root smudge which I didn’t even ask for. Also, I have medium/long hair which she completely destroyed with her layering “technique”. On top of that, this was way overpriced for the service provided.Extremely unprofessional salon that I will not return to or recommend anyone to go to.
