I had an appointment for a simple haircut today. As this was my first time going to a Hair Cuttery, I didn’t list a specific stylist in making my appointment; boy, I wish I had. The customer service was quite nice (the only reason I’m not giving this place one star). I failed to catch the name of the first woman who helped me settle in but she was very kind.

Incredibly disappointed in this location. Poor quality, long waits, did not take care of the customer. My hair was in worst condition after leaving my scheduled 3 hr appointment that ran 6 hrs long. I was completely overcharged and would not be refunded when I went back the next day. All I have to say is when working in the service industry, the customer should be taken care of. Especially when it comes to cosmetology. Now I have to go to a different salon to get my hair repaired from the damage done by this salon.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI went to this salon for a balayage/haircut (online said $135 – they charged me $195) and my hair was 100% naturally dirty blonde with no dye in it whatsoever. I left with hair that looked like I had once bleached my entire head and then never redid my roots in years and a choppy haircut. It was absolutely terrible. I made a complaint to their customer service as well as the manager, explaining that I had paid to have my hair fixed elsewhere, and all they offered to do was fix my hair (that was clearly already done as I told them). As if I was going to trust anyone in that salon to touch my hair again. I suppose if I had went in with anger and rudeness they may have refunded my money, but instead I was calm and polite speaking to the manager and customer service rep – so I got nothing. I’m writing this review so that you don’t also end up spending $195 for your hair to look like you haven’t dyed it in years. I walked in to get my child’s hair trimmed, yesterday, and was told that they didn’t have anything available until much later, but I could make an appointment for the next day. I made the appointment, in person for today. When we arrived for the appointment, 10 mins early, I was informed that the appointment was canceled. The stylist told me that she saw the appointment first thing this morning but by the time she got to the salon, it was canceled. I never received a call or text to confirm or cancel the appointment. No one could give me an explanation why, but I did notice that the had filled it already. I will NEVER go back to that Hair Cuttery.

I have been to many hair cut places to get my hair cut and was never pleased until I went to the hair cuttery up by Lynnhaven and Salem! Not only is the place clean and friendly they give great hair cuts and aren’t just a get you in and cut fast to get to the next kind of place which I like! My go to gal is Natalia who is an absolute amazing person and is amazing at what she does as I know the rest of them do too! Been going there a year now and if you want great service and a great hair cut then this is the place to go!

I’m incredibly dissatisfied. I didn’t realize my hair looked so choppy while I was there, but my friend took the photo I’m posting with this review. I specifically asked for a V shape cut with long layers, but this is what I got instead. It looks horrible. I also received a waxing service while I was there and upon arriving home, I realized that incredibly patchy work was completed and there’s definitely still hair present. I want to count on their “smile back guarantee” but I don’t trust going back a second time, and I definitely don’t recommend coming here.
