Only been here once, and I had the worst haircut experience in my life. The name of the lady cutting my hair was Bianca. She was very sweet; however, I don’t think she was ready to be cutting hair on her own. Granted, she did mention to me that she had just graduated from her cosmetology program 2 months ago, but I figured she knew what she was doing since she is working for a high rated hair salon. At one point, she was trying to blend the fade on back of my head, but to me it seemed like she did not know what she was doing. One of her coworkers noticed this, so she walked over and did a the fade herself – she actually did a decent job. After her coworker was done with the fade, Bianca asks me if I want any hair products, as if she was done. To me the haircut didn’t even look halfway done, so I told her that I need more taken off the top and that she hasn’t even touched my bangs or my sideburns. When she cut my sideburns, she cut them way higher than I asked her to, and they were uneven. After cutting my sideburns, she started cutting more hair off the top, but it was only about a millimeter. Whenever she would grab some of my hair to cut, her fingers would slide all the way up to the point where there was barely any slack, and she would cut it. I asked her to take off more, so she did for a little while, but then she went right back to taking off a millimeter at a time. She did this for about 20 minutes, and she only managed to get through about half of my head. At this point (about an hour into the haircut), I politely asked her to cash me out. She charged me the regular price, and the haircut was only about halfway done. I ended up having to go to the Great Clips down the street on Nipper’s Corner so they can fix what Bianca messed up and just finish the haircut altogether. It took the lady at Great Clips about 10 minutes, as the haircut I wanted was very simple – 3 on the sides, scissors on the top, blend it. I noticed that this place has mostly good reviews, so I am not suggesting to anyone to not go there; but I will advise you to try to avoid getting your hair cut by Bianca. I am talking specifically to the guys because I’m a guy, and she may be great with women’s hair – I don’t know, I just feel like I had to share my experience.

If you could review lower on their establishment, you should. I had a coworker go there this past week to get her hair colored. They charged her 120 dollars to bleach her hair first….then color it. They stopped after bleaching, leaving her hair a ridiculous two color yellow. She was told to go back days later and pay ANOTHER 65 dollars to fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is a shy woman, young and new to dealing with bad business….so I convinced her to ask a manager to fix the mess they gave her. They refused to fix the hair mess they gave her and insisted that they told her it was going to cost her an additional 65 dollars. They expected her to pay 185 dollars simply to color her hair. it is ridiculous how the customer services is horrible there, and they are not a highend place to even come close to those prices. Save yourself from crying over damaged hair, DO NOT Go to Style America.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON!! I was in need of a cut today and the girl at my usual salon is out for the next few weeks so I stopped in here. Wishing I’d seen these reviews beforehand. I walked in and wanted a simple zero fade with some length on top and even showed the girl (Bianca) exactly what I wanted. I should have known not to sit down in that chair when she looked at the picture and had a puzzled look on her face. But, I sat down anyway. She immediately went to buzzing and I could already tell it was going wrong. Bianca continued to buzz up the sides and the back. She kept spinning me around in that chair fast enough that I couldn’t get a good look in the mirror. I watched the clock. She buzzed and buzzed for 20 minutes. It shouldn’t take that long. I knew there was a blending problem. She then began to trim the top and sides with scissors. At one point she was having trouble and asked the other stylist what she thought and the other stylist just said start buzzing it and don’t use scissors. One side would be shorter so she’d trim the other side to match and ended up having to trim the other side again because it was now longer than the other. I was getting frustrated and she could tell. Instead of causing a scene, I politely said just buzz it all off since you can’t seem to give me what I asked for. She insisted she was getting there. I said I don’t think we are so please just buzz it all off. She finally did so, I paid and walked out. I’ll NEVER go back or refer anyone here.
