Rachel is amazing. I have been getting my hair cut by her for several years and I wouldn’t dream of letting anyone else cut my hair. She’s extremely friendly and always full of fun conversation. Rachel’s attention to detail is unmatched, and I have never once left unsatisfied. I can honestly say, this is the best my hair has ever looked.

I finally found a hair stylist and colorist who I love and trust. I’ve been seeing Rachel for several years now — I used to jump from stylist to stylist often. Rachel always knows exactly what I want and makes me feel fresh every time I leave her adorable salon. She is incredibly talented, personable and her passion for her work shows without question. She is by far the best in Old Town Alexandria.

She listened to what I wanted, offered some suggestions, and my hair is amazing. She equally talented with her cuts and colors. Highly recommend!

Rachel has an innate gift in honoring what you have asked for (and executing it). But in spite of that, she is also creative and makes helpful suggestions too. She’s been supportive when I have tried things and changed my mind a few cuts later. I know people can get embarrassed with stylists when they try something at home or changed their minds after asking for a style. But Rachel is not like that. Her personality is cool and inviting so it’s always fun to go see her. Plus she has a cute salon. I have been going to Rachel for years, and now my husband and 3 separate friends have gone to her and loved their results too. Rachel has an innate gift in honoring what you have asked for (and executing it). But in spite of that, she is also creative and makes helpful suggestions too. She’s been supportive when I have tried things and changed my mind a few cuts later. I know people can get embarrassed with stylists when they try something at home or changed their minds after asking for a style. But Rachel is not like that. You can tell her the most abstract and vague description of what you look/cut/color you want, and then BAM! it appears on your head. She’s like the fairy godmother from Cinderella except she holds a scissor instead of a magic wand (unfortunately she doesn’t sing to you while she does your hair but I’ll work on that). She’s never canceled, is always on time (rare for a hair dresser as busy as she is), constantly learning new techniques, maintains a clear and clean work space, and has never let a bad day outside of her salon impact her performance inside it. Suggestions for new clients: RE BOOK AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT. Don’t wait, your hair will get mad at you. Just like nobody wants a skinny chef, nobody wants a stylist without a packed appointment book. Hers has been full for the last 6 years or so. So when you’re lucky enough to snag a seat in her chair, make sure to schedule your next cut/color/style while your butt is still in it. My only complaint about Rachel and her salon is that she didn’t open her own salon sooner. Get in on her regulars list before she blows up and you’re waiting for months and months to see her. You can tell her the most abstract and vague description of what you look/cut/color you want, and then BAM! it appears on your head. Her shop is sooo chic and comfy so sitting waiting for your hair to process is no biggie! Now I just go in and tell her my general idea of what I’d like to do (darker/lighter) and I trust her professional and creative opinion to do whatever she thinks is best. Her shop is sooo chic and comfy so sitting waiting for your hair to process is no biggie! Now I just go in and tell her my general idea of what I’d like to do (darker/lighter) and I trust her professional and creative opinion to do whatever she thinks is best.
