I’m 8.5 months pregnant . Went here to get my hair done for delivery && the manager was trying to detain me because my payment said “pending . Merchant needs to finalize payment.” She never said there was a $3 fee for swiping a card . I used my Cashapp card so I only put up $150 because she said that was how much it cost . So she was running my card for $153 . So I’m front of customers she was being very rude to me, raising her voice && just plain embarrassing me saying my card Jerod declining. She asked for my license to keep it but I’M PREGNANT, again, I’m not driving anywhere without it. She wasn’t even the one who did my hair && made me pay for it in cash because the payment wasn’t received according to her . So I had to walk to food Lion with my hair halfway done because she wouldn’t let the lady finish it !! Horrible customer service from the manager/owner . Never going back && she was a recommendation on top of that . I will never return. && that’s unfortunate because her staff is awesome && is there day && night according to other customers. She blamed me for her being late to her appointment because she wouldn’t leave until she received some form of payment .

I paid for me & my granddaughter to get 2 braids. Not only do I feel like she charged me too much, but the braids in both our heads looks horrible. You can see our hair sticking through the weave, the braids looks like they been in for days but we got it done yesterday morning. The only good thing was she was able to take us last minute, we were the first one’s to get our hair done so it’s not like she was tired of braiding for the day. I will NEVER go there again, so disappointing. Oh & I used my own hair, not her hair.

I love my hair they did a wonderful job I recently cut my hair and they were able to catch up my hair no braids came out I will be back. I wasn’t feeling well and the staff made sure I was ok offered me food and water very patient and kind.

I went to BRAIDS R US 4 weeks ago & got individual crochet faux locs done!! I made an appointment for today to o go backs there to get them remove. When I called I was told it would be $50, then today the price changed to $60 when I called to confirm my appointment time and spoke to the owner Coumba . I really wanted to get them taken out so I proceeded with getting it done!! Then halfway through my hair it became $80 absolutely ridiculous!! But the real reason why I’m writing this review is because in the process of taking out the locs Coumba CUT a CHUNK if my hair out in the front & she did not say anything until I realized it at the end. I was so furious & she tried to deny it acting shock. She might not have done it my mistake but she should have told me right when it happened.. I will never return to this UNPROFESSIONAL OVERPRICED place to waste my money!! HORRIBLE SERVICE

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueABSOLUTELY THE WORST BRAIDING EXPERIENCE IN MY OVER TWENTY YEARS OF HAIR MY HAIR BRAIDED!!!! Ask for simple cornrows provided a picture the braided said she could perform the service and immediately asked to pay ahead of the service. As she began (5 big cornrows with small braid between) I notice the big braid was croaked and she stared three small braids instead of two in the middle of the my head. Once she notice I was touching and using the camera on my phone because her braiding technique did not seem proper. She began to blow her breath and shout “it’s your fault you didn’t show me the picture long enough” and “your hair is not right” once I repeatedly asked for the style on the picture I asked her to just place one small braid in the middle as she was not able to perform the service from the picture. She then got to the middle of my head and informed she didn’t leave enough room to continue with the small braids and stated she would change the pattern which was due to her not understanding the importance of parting when braiding. She stopped my hair shouted out of the shop “i’m not doing her hair, I have been doing hair since 6am.” She them stormed out of the shop and returned with food while still arguing it was my fault she parted my hair incorrectly and could not perform the service. After eating she went to another customer and openly discussed the situation between her and I. I started to finish my hair in her shop and asked for a refund which she denied, and I immediately called my bank and they overheard her using profanity refusing to compete the service and refusing a refund. Once she discovered I was on the phone with the bank she accused me of going to different African braiding shops and receiving a service and disputing the charges ( I have never had to dispute a charge for service and I have never had a bad experience in an African braiding shop. Got there and the place is clean and very comfortable-all the ladies were very nice and made sure I was ok!!!! I got my hair braided and it is VERY BEAUTIFUL AND NEAT!!!! I won’t go anywhere else because of service and quality consistency but I need to know the price before I go or some sort of pricing standard should be consistent. I budget EVERYTHING so when i take off to get my hair done I need to know that I’m not overspending. You guys are THE BEST braiders and y’all are really nice and I enjoy supporting you but please post your prices and stick to it … your work is good enough that people will see the price and come. Y’all have some bad reviews but none are because of quality and that says something! Also, NO ONE in this salon has ever been rude to me or my daughter and I’m truly shocked to see that because I’ve seen a woman tell a braider to stop braiding her hair because she didn’t like her braids and she wanted a different braider and they accommodated without any issue. Just post your prices please! Thank you.

I came in flustered because I got my hair done elsewhere and it was a horrible job. I came into the shop and Cumba was very welcoming. I asked her if they could redo the work of someone else in such short notice and she said they could. I had Nancy do my hair and let me tell you…she works fast! I found my new braiding shop. I’ll be coming back for sure!

I have been natural for going on 5 years and have been able to go to Dominican salons and walk out without heat damage. I come here now my hair is broken off, heat damaged, and no longer retaining moisture. The entire experience was a mess from the start. I wanted two braids was told it could be done and it would only cost $60, I come to get my hair done and all of a sudden it’s a different stylist and she says it’ll be $70 since my hair is natural and does more than two braids. All the while she has an attitude, she pulls out a hair dryer and I ask if she used heat protectant she said yeah but of course she didn’t. To make matters worse 3 days after getting the style it looked like two weeks had passed already. DO NOT come here if you’re natural, your hair will be ruined for sure.
