Came in 9/19/22 for a haircut. Friendly staff, however the haircut was not good. I wasn’t close enough to the mirror to see it in the shop, and when I went home I noticed that the left side of my head was undercut, and the right side was faded so poorly that there is a distinct line in the side of my head. The lady attempted to blend the my facial hair into my sideburns and ended up creating a bald spot on the left side and missed the right altogether.

This was the best haircut I have ever had. I’ve always just gone to pretty basic chain places and have recently been trying to scale things up a little bit by going one step up to places like Sport Clips. However I think this will have to be the only place I go from now on. I presented them with a picture of a fade haircut I wanted to try and they said it wouldn’t be a problem at all. Not only did it turn out great but they did the whole thing in about 10 minutes for only $15! Insane value!

Went for a hair cut today. I got a haircut from Madison, who was very polite and friendly. I was very happy with the results and I’ll definitely be going back. They didn’t seem to accept credit cards, but have an ATM inside the shop. They also accept cash and Venmo. Haircut

I have now been to Brownstone twice. Both times I walked back into my apartment and all of my roommates laughed in my face. Both times the woman cutting my hair showed no effort or care into the work she was doing. It seemed as though she had a 10 minute timer to randomly cut my hair until she finally became complacent and asked if it was fine. If I wanted someone to randomly stab around my head with scissors for 10 minutes I would ask my friend who’s only experience cutting hair is mine a couple times and he still did a better job. After reading multiple reviews after, I can understand that experience can shorten the time of a haircut. However due to my typically longer hair, I have never had a haircut under 30 minutes and I don’t know how much experience it takes to shave off that much time in a haircut. I asked for an inch and a half off all around, and sometimes that might not be short enough, but after she initially asked if it was fine, I couldn’t even tell the back of my head got cut at all. Before arriving to the building, I attempted to call ahead to see who was working because I had received a recommendation from a friend. They did not pick up. This only made me more upset when I walked in and saw three workers sitting on their phones, not a single customer in sight. Needless to say I will not be coming back, nor will I be recommending this establishment to a friend. I wouldn’t even recommend it to a sworn enemy.

I’m a Sophomore at Virginia Tech and have been to Brownstone multiple times. I decided to write a review because I saw someone write a terrible review about this place that I definitely disagreed with. The first time I went to Brownstone was because one of my friends recommended it to me. When I went the experience was great! The barber listened to what I wanted and brought it to fruition. Since then I’ve been back multiple times and experienced great service. All my friends love coming here and I have never heard a bad thing about them.

Walked in with the most jacked hair possible after falling victim to a drunk haircut from a friend. Kimberly was awesome and was able to fix the whole thing. Advice for if you’re in a similar situation, go to her and ask her to fix it in whatever way she thinks is best

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Quality, ValueI have been getting my haircuts here for a while. Best in town in my opinion. Every stylist that I’ve had ( patti, Priscilla, Kimberley, Kristina) has done an amazing job and I love my hair. It’s also such a great price too. I like to get a wash after. Priscilla cut my hair today and she did such an amazing job. Thanks as always!
