I am upset writing this review, because my experience with Anita cutting my hair was truly awful. I am including two pictures: the first picture is of the cut and style that I asked Anita to do for me. The second picture is the result. As you can see, the haircut I got is no where close to the same universe as the cut that I showed her and asked for. She essentially took her scissors, cut a straight line across cutting off 6 inches of my long hair, and then cut another straight line for bangs. She attempted to style it in a manner to hide what a poor job she did, but I was horrified right away. When I asked her to attempt to salvage the damage she had done, she got an attitude with me and said that I could leave if I wasn’t happy. Not sure if she was having a bad day or was running late but no one should be treated this way. I hope no one has to experience what I did. Thankfully, I was able to find someone tomorrow to fix what she did.

I’ve been going to Blown Salon for over 10 years. I feel like I’m part of them family. But, more importantly, I’m always thrilled with my hair when I leave. My stylist SARAH, talks to me about what I’m wanting done. She lets me the risks (hair coloring), how to medigate the risks. She truly cares about her clients. My last visit, I wanted purple highlights. We talked through everything, from up keep, ensuring the hair has good hydration, to changing it back when I’m ready. She reminded me that we just got my hair to a really heathy place, but she told me the steps to take to keep it that way. I’d recommend Blown Salon every day all day!! They are fabulous and truly care about the clients.

Somehow, a higher end salon in Old Town managed to destroy my long hair. I went in on a groupon deal (yes, groupon — I was looking for a new salon close to home, this one seemed legit from the reviews). I was set up with Deandra and asked for a simple long-hair cut with layers. My hair was about mid-back length with V shape and layers. I wanted 2-3″ off the ends with some layers for balance. What I received was a 6″ haircut with no layers. If I wanted a line across my back with no layers, I would have asked my roommate to take the kitchen shears to my hair and make a straight line; not paid $60 for someone to do the same thing at a salon.

Decided to get the Milbon conditioning treatment here and was the worst salon experience I ever had. To be fair, all workers are super nice but I ended up with the same hair, minus $95 and the need to blow dry my hair again. It was that bad that I asked the lady to stop drying my hair so I can take care of it at home. I was also told a different service price over the phone. I am really frustrated as I had to pay for a service that did not change my hair even a bit.
