Positive: Cleanliness, QualityInitial Experience:Owner/Stylist was responsive to texts for a last minute appointment. Location was easy to find and street parking was surprisingly easy. I would recommend installing Park Mobile to your phone and just pay for parking based on your Parking Zone.Back story:I went to another salon for a Brunette Balayage with a few babylights, I ended up with what appeared to be a VERY brassy dip blonde / bad ombre. So, I sought out a salon that specialized in color.Arrival:I didn’t warn the Owner/Stylist that I was black with just flat ironed hair (no relaxer or processing). I found it funny how politely she asked if my hair curled up when wet.Warning:**IF YOU HAVE NATURAL HAIR / TIGHTLY CURLED HAIR AND EXPECT A BLOW OUT, PLEASE LET HER KNOW**Also, like other reviewers, if you’re not accustomed to how blunt foreigners can be, you may confuse her tone for being rude. She is not rude, just matter-of-fact at times. Coming from a foreign family, I understood and found it funny more than anything.Process:Deciding to be more diligent about asking questions, she let me know that she was applying a color melt and tone down the brassy blonde.Result:She did not have time to blow out my hair or do an Olaplex treatment before I left, so I was sent on my way with wild, but color corrected hair and nothing else. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have been going to Color Bar Arlington since moving to the area, and they consistently do a beautiful job with my balyage treatment, and a cut when I need it. In addition to staff being professional and lovely, the space itself is gorgeous and modern. I know they are very busy but it never feels packed since they are intentional about how and when they schedule clients, and I love that since I’ve never been a fan of feeling a sardine in a salon (particularly in the time of COVID). I never have to wait long to be seen, and I always feel safe from a COVID standpoint. Samil recently did a beautiful job freshening up my color before my wedding. I have been going to Color Bar Arlington since moving to the area, and they consistently do a beautiful job with my balyage treatment, and a cut when I need it. In addition to staff being professional and lovely, the space itself is gorgeous and modern. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI called and made my appointment on the phone for a color trim wash and style. When I got there as I waited be if the stylist was about to fight a client. First strike. Then I was told to sit in the chair. I told the woman what I wanted and also stated if the color couldn’t be done I was open to suggestions. Let’s just say the color wasn’t right, my hair was coming out in clumps to the point that I have very short hair in the middle.she also didn’t throughly dry my hair and after flat ironing my hair it was brittle and not straight and they had the nerve to charge me 190. I ended up paying 125 which I didn’t want to pay nothing. I will never go back and now I have damaged hair. The woman that did my hair felt bad and was willing to take whatever I offered but the other girls didn’t care and had ooor customer service. I was told that when I go to a salon to get color I should expect some hair loss. I disagree. I am usually bad with making regular appointments, but no matter how long my roots are; she’s always able to make my very dark brown hair a beautiful blonde without damage.
