This has been my local haircut place now since I moved to Pentagon City 5 years ago. I continually go to this store because the wait time is always short and they have the nicest staff. I always get my haircut with Kevin as he is personable as one could be. Every time I see Kevin he always asks about my family and my job, not to mention how great he is at fixing my beard and hair!

I had been coming to this location for almost a year with no issues. I’m a woman with curly hair so a trim is usually no big deal. After this weekend though, I’ll never come back. I asked for a trim to shoulder length and what I got was chin length. I asked the stylist at one point to not go any shorter because what she was doing was a lot shorter than what I intended. She didn’t listen and commented “chin length” and touched my hair to my chin when she was done. Absolutely embarrassing.

I have been coming here for a while, but have been sporadic about it since the pandemic. It had been a year since I got a haircut and things were pretty dire, so I checked the website to make sure everyone was still wearing masks here. The website clearly said that customers and workers, everyone, must wear masks at this business. With that very important question settled, I set off for the train, spending over an hour of time that I couldn’t afford to waste. When I entered the business I found that only two of the six people in the business had masks on– (1) me, (2) one of the two stylists, whose mask was dangling at his chin.

Not sanitary. Good cut by Kevin but none of the equipment was cleaned or sterilized between customers. There was someone else’s hair on the clippers and combs. I should have walked away. Haircut

I entered and asked for a haircut. The attendant would not check me in unless I gave my full name and phone number. I gave her my first name but she insisted on more of my personal information so I decided to leave. The attendant seemed un-phased by a customer walking out of an empty store.

I’ve had a haircut at Great Clips Pentagon Row a total of three times, and the service is usually good. But on my third visit, the quality dropped significantly. It’s my understanding that the stylist on your first visit will take notes on how your haircut is done (with your preferences) and all future stylists follow suit. My usual haircut has my bangs not cut too short, but the stylist on my most recent visit cut my bangs off completely and cut my hair so short to the point that the skin of my scalp can be seen (it almost looks like a complete buzz cut). I was very disappointed with the output because Great Clips stylists are usually good at keeping my preferred hairstyle intact.
