Had a wonderful experience at Shanel’s. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Shanel took great care of my hair and I came out with somehow the softest hair too! She always asked if the cut is how I envisioned it. For the quality of cut I received it was well priced!

This place is one the best in dmv area. I love getting my hair handled by Jay. He is a great stylist with great customer service and excellent hair consulting. I’m always happy after my haircut every time I visit this place. This place is so great that I drive 40+ mins to come here. Worth every penny and second.

absolutely love it here. the staff is very polite and kind. i always ask for sora because she always leaves my hair looking gorgeous! i’m giving 4 stars because the chairs you sit in when getting your hair shampooed are a little uncomfortable in the neck area, but other than that it’s great. i will be a regular customer when it comes to their straightening treatments! booking an appointment saves the wait!

I was very pleased with the style so next time I came specifically from Florida to her to do my hair. I heard so many compliments after. I love Shanel hair salon. This is a new hair of my girl. She really wanted to do some highlights on her hair but her dad does not wanted too bright color. The hair looks so natural and the color came out great. I never regretted coming here to get my hair done from this place as well. They always know the answer even though I want some makeover but not exactly sure what to do. I really recommend Shanel to everyone who seek some quite gentle place and most importantly, with professional skills. Many places they don’t know what they’re doing…

I don’t know why is this place even a hair salon, they don’t even know how to do a simple haircut. They will shave your head. Just stay away from this place, totally not worth it. This place doesn’t deserve a 4 star it’s a hair salon for kids. Haircut

WORST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER!! I came a day before the appointment for the evaluation which was just her insulting and looking down at my “damaged” hair. my hair isn’t damaged, it’s just curly and frizzly. she’s accustomed to Korean, silky straight hair so I guess this was a new experience. the lack of diversity made me nervous. I have no problem with it, however, it proves the shortage of experience when dealing with non-Asian costumers. The owner spoke to the employee that was doing my treatment in Korean and she wasn’t very nice about it. The owner’s facial expression showed that she was disgusted by my hair. she held it as if it was a piece of trash. I was so uncomfortable and so was the employee that was doing my treatment whenever the owner was there. The aura she carried with her was just harsh and close-minded. The lady doing my treatment was extremely kind and genuine. She did an outstanding job and the treatment was perfect. However, the whole time the owner was around, I was just offended and uncomfortable. I recommend the treatment, but not the salon.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityThis is my first time at Shanel; the salon is spotless and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. My hair dresser Sora did a great job with my perm and cut! Even though the price was slightly over my budget it was totally worth it. (Hair toss, check my nails, feeling good as hell!) Free parking is available.
